I knew this day would come . . . and that eventually Abby would win this "let me ride my bike to school" battle.

I hope I don't regret this!

p.s. I did follow her in the car . . . just to make sure she (and her friends) got there okay. She did. And that makes me feel a little better. But still . . .

Believe it or not, I was suspended from school in the 6th grade. Well . . . with "in-house" suspension. I still had to go to school, but instead of going to class, I had to sit in the office or the library for the entire day . . . for 3 days!

How did this happen? I wrote on the bathroom walls. Not with a pen, but with a paper clip. I would etch words into the paint. Why? Who knows. My friends did it . . . so . . . you know. It's really hard to be 12.

Anyway . . . check out what I found in the bathroom at our house! Halle seems to be a vandal too. We will be discussing this further with her . . . and making sure that her fingernails stay very short.

Jonathan David Fales passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, in Desert Hot Springs, California, at the age of 35. Jonathan was born in Van Nuys, California, on July 11, 1974. After leaving California at the age of seven, Jonathan also lived in Idaho, New Hampshire, and Arizona while growing up. As an adult, he spent time in Utah, Florida, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming before moving back to California. He loved moving around, meeting new people, and learning about the world. Jonathan is survived by his parents, David and Kristine Fales of Cody, Wyoming; and his three brothers and seven sisters: Ali Behrens, Andrew (Charity) Fales, Ben (Shelley) Fales, Annie (Scott) Arrington, Kat (Justin) Serra, Liz (Jon) Dewey, Rebekah (Doug) Peterson, and Angela, Matt, and Michelle Fales. He was also the uncle to seven nieces and seven nephews, all of whom he adored: Melissa, Justin, Emily, Charles, Eva, Moorea, Abby, Halle, Gwenyth, Austin, Parker, Cruz, Neal, and Brady. He is also survived by his grandmother, Vivian Fales; and many loving aunts and uncles: his father's sister, Linda (Steve) Parkin, and brother, Steven (Mardi) Fales and Terry Ann Andersen; and his mother's brothers and sisters, Laurie Frost, Jaynie (Art) Brown, Joe (Marge) Litster, Greg (Elaine) Litster, Bill (Lisa) Litster and Larainne Cory, David (Janet) Litster, and Robin (Randy) Johnson. He also had 47 first cousins, whom he loved and admired, and they loved him. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Heard and Alice Fales and Ruth Asay Fales; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Birdell Litster; as well his uncle, Gibb Frost; and former brother-in-law, Justin Behrens. Jonathan was a man who desired peace and had great compassion for everyone. He was extremely loyal and always willing to help anyone who was in need. He was self-educated, enjoyed acquiring knowledge, and looked forward to helping children learn how to learn. Jonathan was so proud of his family and thought it was great to be part of such a large and diverse group. To all who knew and loved him, Jonathan's life will continue to be a blessing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Mountain View Ward building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8620 Goddard Road, Boise, ID. Interment will be at Cloverdale Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.

Ben, Andrew (brother), Matt (brother), and James (cousin) Fales left Wednesday afternoon with a trailer to pick up Jon's body in Desert Hot Springs, CA. 42 hours later, the Fales boys arrived in Boise.

..As James Fales said, "We bury our dead." (and "bring our dead home.")

Ben's oldest brother has passed away. He took his own life near Palm Springs, CA. He will be buried in Boise, ID. We will be leaving later this week to attend the funeral and be with family. Please remember Ben, his parents, brothers and sisters in your prayers.

The Fales family gathered for Granpa Fales funeral last October. Jonathan is the second oldest of 11 children.

Fever No More!

Mr. Handsome has been pretty miserable for the last few days with a fever, runny nose, cough . . . that sort of stuff. Finally he woke up this morning and was NOT a little heating pad!

Basketball Saturday

Mr. Handsome had to wake up early.

Abby had her last basketball game. She really improved so much and had a good time.

Ben's parents came into town for Angela's game. So we headed up to Salt Lake to see one last game!

Memorial Service for Justin Behrens

Justin Behrens was a former husband to Ben's sister Ali. He had adopted our niece, Melissa and is our nephew Justin's dad. He was in a fatal car crash.

We went to his memorial service in Boise, Id.
