Halloween

This year for Halloween, we had a mummy, a cowgirl,
and Toy Story characters Jessie and Woody.
Here the kids are at the trunk or treat.

After the trunk or treat, we took the kids trick or treating.

The Friday before Halloween, we let the kids have a Halloween party at our house. They invited a lot of their friends. It was pretty ambitious of me . . . but my girls thought it was so fun . . . so it was worth it . . . and I may even do it again . . . I felt like the "fun mom" for once!
Happy Halloween!

Daddy Daughter Date

The girls LOVE going to a football game with dad.
Here's Ben, Gwen and Halle at the game with the coveted "cougar tail".

The Pumpkin Patch

Oh how we love the pumpkin patch.
This year, we hit two of them.
Here the kids are at Jakers in Springville.
They have a huge pumpkin patch, and then they also had a maze and a corn filled pit to play in.

Here the kids are swimming in the corn!

Halle and Gwen are finding the right pumpkin.

The next day we went to the Red Barn!
This place is so fun because of the hayride and apple cider and doughnuts.

Here's Abby and her good friend Izzy.

Until next year!

Halle's Party

First of all, the weather was AMAZING for Halle's October birthday.
We were able to have her afternoon party OUTSIDE.
LOVED IT!

We had a doughnut eating contest.

A cake walk.

Bingo games. Cake and ice cream. Music. This outside party was a big hit!

Halle seemed to have the BEST day.
She got the pillow pet she wanted.
She had a birthday breakfast of stuffed french toast, bacon, eggs and orange juice.
For lunch, Dad took her to McDonald's.
For dinner I think she had spaghetti . . . ?
I am a little behind in writing this down. I'm going to have to ask her.
But she really had a GREAT day!
It makes it all so worth it when they
love every minute of it.
Happy Birthday Halle!

Look Who's Eight!

Miss Halle has turned 8!
We just put her to bed about 1/2 hour ago. A birthday call came about 15 minutes
later . . . but she was OUT . . . a good sign that she had a GREAT day!
Halle had a full day with a birthday breakfast, lunch, dinner and super fun birthday party. More details and pictures later.

So these pictures are the ones I made her do a few weeks ago with me. I think she liked having her picture taken . . . I stopped before she did!

Doesn't this picture just make you laugh?
It makes me laugh.
Austin wanted his picture taken too and posed like Halle.
He is wearing his favorite Toy Story pajamas and boots. Haha!

The Castle

We were screaming at our house when we heard the news about the Provo Tabernacle. If you did not see General Conference this morning . . . check out this link.

I am so excited that Gwen now will not have to just "settle" for a temple to get married in! Her favorite building will be both the castle she loves AND a temple! Here is a post I made about Gwen's feelings about this building last January. WaHoo!!!!

A little over a month ago this beautiful building, (the Provo Tabernacle . . . picture courtesy of somewhere online) caught on fire and was completely ruined. SO TRAGIC!

Gwen, who is 4, has loved this building along with everyone else familiar with it. She always called it "the castle" and claimed she would get married there.

The other day we were driving in Provo, and she started talking about how sad it was that "the big castle" burned down. Then, with a sigh, she said . . . ,"now I guess I'll just have to get married in the temple."

I tried hard not to laugh out loud.
