Okay, I have been meaning to make this post for awhile . . . but with the move and everything . . . it got put on the back burner. But now that I am a little more sane, I need to let you know what I did! Around last May I stumbled on this blog Money Saving Methods.

I now consider this blog the online offer Bible. I would never have done an online offer without reading every word she wrote . . . but I am here to say that it worked! I did an offer through Ideal and my $500 gift card really came in the mail! It took about 2 months from beginning to end, around $80 (which included shipping things back that I did not want) a lot of stress on my end (because I had never done one before), and a few hours researching companies.

Anyways, if anyone is interested in doing this too, check out the Money Saving Methods blog and click on her online offer link and read away. I do not recommend doing an offer with out spending the time reading her instructions. Good luck! I am getting close to wanting to do another one!

But I Don't Have a Bike . . .

Gwen turned 3 last Sunday, September 27th! She is so grown up! This girl is potty trained, gets herself dressed (note the mismatched clothes), likes her hair to be curled, loves shoes and being "pretty". She also loves having a purse with money (thanks grandma, nana, and great grandma!) and credit cards (play ones of course! . . . and I'm actually surprised that she even knows what credit cards are). She wants to "drive the car and be the mom". She wants a "yellow purse and an orange purse and a green purse". She also wants to wear make-up and have her ears pierced! She is busy . . . that's for sure!

As for the bike title . . . towards the end of this last July, Gwen decided the scooter wasn't enough. She wanted a "big bike like Halle". I put it off because I thought that would be a great birthday present . . . probably much to my neighbors dismay:) In our last neighborhood, every time Gwen went outside, she went to a couple different houses that she knew and would ask if she could ride their bike. She would say something like, "because I don't haaave a bike . . ." in this sad, pathetic way . . . :)

Anyway . . . she got a bike for her birthday . . . and rides it EVERY day!

Doesn't Everyone Need at Least One Roller Skating Party?

Was I the only one that had the "coolest" roller skating birthday party in the 3rd grade? Well apparently, among the "Fales", I guess I am.

Ben's birthday was yesterday . . . and boy is he getting up there! (Actually, now we are finally the same age for at least 1 1/2 months). Since he had class last night, we did our birthday dinner and family party thing the night before. Dinner at Fuddruckers and roller skating at Classic Skate (okay . . . I have to confess that my frugality played a little part in the roller skating activity . . . it was the kids school family skate night . . . but I actually really have great memories of roller skating . . . 3rd grade . . . Ricks College . . . you know)! The kids thought this was the best thing ever! I'm pretty sure Ben did too.

Where was the "Superfan"?

So . . . Ben was told that his commercial would be played at last night's game at half time. It turns out that they didn't play it until the last 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter . . . and the guy on the loudspeaker was explaining what the contest was DURING the showing of the commercial. They also never zoomed in on the main actor who was at the game for his "live shots" . . . even though they got him tickets to be there. WHATEVER. Maybe it was due to the tone of the game? At least the free season tickets came through, right?

S'more Soccer

Halle is only two games away from finishing out her soccer season. I am so sad! I love going to soccer games.
I have to say, Halle has become such a good little player this year! She dominates the field and has scored the most goals for her team!

BYU Football Commercial Contest

BYU Sports Marketing is holding the 2nd Annual Cougar Grid Vids competition. All excited football fans are invited to create a 30 second TV commercial for the 2009 football season. Six winning commercials will be selected, and one will be played at halftime of each Cougar home game on the Jumbo Screen. A Grand Prize winner will be selected to receive two season tickets and their commercial will be shown at the BYU/Utah football game on November 28, 2009.

And they WON THE GRAND PRIZE!!!!!!!

This commercial was originally going to be aired at the BYU/Utah football game on November 28th. BUT . . . BYU bumped it up to this Saturday's Florida State game because they want to use live shots of the main actor from their commercial throughout the season--they thought he was so funny in the commercial they want to have him pump up the crowd throughout the entire season! Do we have a new mascot???

So . . . all you football fans out there that may be attending the BYU game this weekend, watch for Ben & Joel's "Superfan" commercial on the Jumbo Screen!

P.S. They asked Ben not to post the video until after the Florida State game so look for it on YouTube late Saturday night!

Pillar of Salt?

Okay . . . right now I feel a little bit like Lot's wife who could not resist the temptation to look back. I can assure you that I did NOT leave a place like Sodom and Gomorrah . . . and I DO know that I felt like we should jump on this opportunity to move.

HOWEVER, I can't say this has been an easy move . . . even with feeling like I should do it.

Lately I have been looking back and really missing what we left, even though things are going okay here.

Well . . . except Jasmine, our fish of two years, died a week and a half ago. And the replacement fish died after 5 days. Maybe it's the water here?
